Canoes At Sunset…

02 Jun

P1171

Here we are again. Tired kids nodding off while weary teachers meander by doors for a time. All quite satisfied after a day of full activity.
Late this afternoon my group of a dozen little soldiers meandered (somewhat) around the tributaries of the Anglesea river in canoes. It turned out to be a most enjoyable exercise in teamwork and harmless fun. I caught this HDR pic just after we had all disembarked and given the ducks their serenity back.
Later on after dinner, we all perched beside a roaring campfire toasting marshmallows. To add to the good vibe, we shared some songs. Two guitars…a student and I.
Another day that finished with me remembering some of those professional glimpses with a refreshed mind.

This is another one of those posts where I cant decide if I like the pic or the story best. It sounds like you are all having an amazing time and experiences. I’m looking forward to hearing the buzzing from your kids. There is nothing like the great outdoors to unleash the real learning 😀

This camp has revitalised me in some areas. It has reminded me that there may still be light end of the tunnel in this little 2011 journey. Your comment was really nice to read when down there. Cheers

This is awesome. Looks like a beautiful place and that you are having fun with the kids. I did a camp like this for years (until our funding completly dried up). Best way to see kids in another light and gain some appreciation of them in a new way….I think they also came to see me in another way. It brought us closer together. It’s exhausting though. I looked forward to going but could hardly wait to get home because I was worn out…..can you share these photos and stories on the NING. It is exactly what we need to kickstart our group thinking. Please?

Hi Marsha,Thanks for the comment and pondering. It is exhausting, you’re right. But having a Saturday back on to it is ideal. :)I quite like the idea of posting these to the Ning. That would be fine. And I guess my work here does tie in to the ‘Our Stories’ theme. I wonder if there is any way I can autopost to our group space. Now that I am home I intend to spend some of my Sunday inside the Ning getting some things started.
