We recently emptied out our first pile of compost from the big bin out the back. It’s been a resounding success. The contents of the entire bin had become a rich, black soil. The only lasting remnant of any grass cuttings or vegetable/fruit scraps was a lone egg shell. There was no odour at all which was most welcome. The bin generated enough compost to create a new garden bed around the base of my favourite tree. Perseverance has really paid off in this instance. Now what to plant…?
