Mirrored Music

24 Aug

P1956

In the room where we play music together on a Wednesday night, there is a mirror that lines one side of a wall. It runs almost completely from ceiling to floor. It is rare that any of us set up our instruments facing the mirror. Yet once or twice I have done so, just to see what my style of playing looks like. Playing live music is always such an intriguing process. Sometimes it can feel so right, like everything is aligned. Other times it can feel like a slog, like every movement is a grind. Here and there it can be just the feel of a stick on a snare or the humming bass string under a melody. Moments can appear that utterly save you.
I thought it might be cool to capture a shot looking through the mirror using one of the ‘CamWow’ filters.
