Man Versus Mouse!

14 Apr

Living in a somewhat rural area with lots of countryside nearby, we are lucky to have lots of birds in our trees and even some frogs hopping in the garden of late. I’ve been told that a frog sighting means your garden is in good condition!
One of the less desirable forms of life is the mouse. Over the last few years I’ve had the displeasure of hearing the odd mouse skittering across the boards in the roof. Only when the weather gets chilly do I hear any action. Baits have worked and the unwanted visitors only tend to visit once or twice.
Despite this success, I have increased the firepower on the front line in 2011! I have carefully placed some neat, mess-free traps at outside access points where I believe the little buggers are roaming at night. Two months of patience has yielded three casualties. These special traps are slightly more humane and do not involve any carnage so to speak. But I have declared war and for now…armistice is but a whisp of cloud in the sky!

You couldn’t set a bowl of jelly let alone a mouse trap! Surrender is but a weed in your guttering! Mouse.

I am staying with my cousin in Sydney. She has tick bearing protected bandicoots she would dearly love to murder.
