Not quite a baker’s dozen…

10 Apr

Some holiday baking occurred today in the kitchen. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen pure chocolate mix rippling away in a bowl. It takes me back to when mum baked cakes, biscuits or cupcakes and my brother and I would hover over the mixture as mum stirred away. Sometimes the best part was licking the mixture off the spoon. Gobbling down the final product came second to that always!
Today’s chocolate mixture made twelve small cupcakes so it seemed appropriate to use the ‘photo spread’ effect on LunaPic. Count the frames!
What was your favourite baked treat as a child?

It had a real zing from the lemons picked straight from the tree. The best part was the icing, full of bright yellow zest! Lemon icing with real lemon zest is delicious. I also think zest is a great word that doesn’t get used enough. Zest!
